I made this fleece floor pillow for my godson Everett! His room has an adventure/map sort of feel, so I thought this might work well. I chose the fleece so I didn't have to worry about raveling. I just used steam a seam for the applique, sewed around it with my machine to make sure it wouldn't come loose, and that was it! I lost Madagascar somewhere but other than that it's great!
Love this! It's super cute :) Did you print out maps and use those to cut the felt out?
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, I printed out the maps and then traced them onto Steam a Seam in reverse to make the applique. The size they are made about one continent per 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper, except for Asia that took two. =)
DeleteThis is really cute, i've just stumbled onto it by searching for 'globe pillows' because i'm planning one for my friend, and I found yours! Did you find that the fleece warped or wrinkled under the steam a seam at all?
ReplyDeleteNope, the Steam a Seam worked easily with the fleece! The hardest part was keeping track of the islands. Madagascar became New Zealand. =)
