Serenity's Photobooth Birthday Present =)

At this age I don't really feel a need to buy presents for Serenity, she gets plenty from her grandparents and other family, and we go all out with the party fun, so I like to make her things for her gift.  This year, I decided I want to make her a photo book with pics of all her family and friends in it!  I thought it would be most fun if we had a crazy rainbow photobooth at her birthday to get fun pictures of everyone.  It went so well!  I think people had fun playing with the props, and I got a lot of cute pics!  I had rainbow hats, a feather boa, a chalkboard that my Dad made for messages, and a rainbow picture frame that I painted.

She loves looking at the pictures already, I just have to get them together!  I also plan to photoshop pictures of people who weren't able to attend the party into the photobooth.  I'll post pics of that when I figure it out!

The photobooth itself was made just like this tutorial for the puppet theater, except with larger pvc and a bigger scale.

  3. I love this idea. It's a great way to make sure everyone at the party is photographed. It's also a great way to see what you missed, when you are busy hosting. Very cute!! I found you at Katie's Nesting Spot Link party.

  4. What are the measurements you used for this project? I think its a great size and perfect for a location that doesn't have anyplace to create a photobackdrop! Can't wait to build it.

    1. Well, I've since repurposed all these pieces to use as a garment rack for my daughter's play clothes, so I will have to work from memory.

The width pieces are five feet wide. That meant we really needed to do vertical pictures for the most part so we could get just the photobackdrop. If you want to take horizontal photos, say if that's the only way your tripod works, you might want it wider.

Overall I made it seven feet tall, and that was divided into four feet lengths for the tallest section, and three feet for the lower segments. Then as you can see from the tutorial, there's sort of a square side frame to hold it up. Those are also three feet each. I wanted to keep it simple so I didn't have to worry too much about what piece went where. Then the little piece that goes to the front to brace it there is just one foot. There's a little piece to go in between the t-shaped connector pieces.

Oh, and I used the 2 inch pvc pipe. You want it to be sturdy in the five foot lengths.
